About Aligarh Public School & College:
The school consists of four houses, each named after it’s patron, a leader of the nation viz. Quaid e Azam, Sir Syed, Allama Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Johar. Boys are encouraged to know about the life and works of theses Nation Elders and be familiar with their values. Each house has its own resident House Master, Assistant House Master and affiliated members. Each Boy is expected to make a substantial contribution to the upkeep of the house, as one of the ways in which he learns civic pride and responsibility.
The students are led by the Head Boy, House Captains, a group of Prefects, and Dorm Leaders. Nominations of suitable students are forwarded to the principal by the HMs and other faculty members for final recommendations. There exists a well-set criterion for these appointments and discipline is given a keystone value. This way, the boys learn not only how to lead but also imbibe the true spirit of democracy i.e., participation at the grass roots level by all and sundry coupled with accountability of the entrusted with responsibility.
