Last call for distribution of laptops under PM Laptop Scheme 2023
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced the laptop scheme (new phase) and the registration will be announced later.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) will distribute around 200,000 laptops to students of public sector universities and degree-granting institutions in Phase IV and V under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
According to HEC sources on Monday, the last date to apply for laptops is June 21, 2023. The first phase of the laptop scheme was launched in 2023-2024 and the government decided to distribute 100,000 laptops every financial year. .
As this was the last year of the current regime it has been decided to distribute the remaining 100,000 laptops in 2023-2024.

Initially laptops were distributed to public sector universities and later colleges and technical colleges were also included in the scheme.
Similarly, initially only PhD and MPhil students were selected for this scheme, later BS level students were also given laptops. Distance learning universities were not part of the scheme when it was launched, while later Allama Iqbal Open University and Virtual University were also selected for the scheme.
